It provides a 140-degree field of view and significantly improves overall image sharpness and clarity, helping you get the most out of the camera’s capabilities. With the right accessories, the Insta360 Ace Pro 2 is a capable and travel-friendly option for capturing high-quality underwater footage.

The Ace Pro 2 is the latest action camera from Insta360, competing with the GoPro HERO13 and DJI Action 5. It’s a strong option, offering numerous lens modes, stabilization settings, and a high degree of customizability. 

The camera pairs well with the Backscatter Sharp Wide Lens Pro, providing sharper image quality and better close-focusing. The Ace Pro 2 captures solid underwater color in shallow water and works well with lights at depth, such as the Backscatter Macro Wide 4300s. However, when using the Sharp Wide Lens Pro, it’s important not to use heavy stabilization or the underwater mode, as these can cause slight vignetting in the corners. 

I found the Ace Pro 2’s menu system less intuitive than that of GoPro or DJI, though switching between custom modes only requires a single button press—compared to two with the GoPro HERO13. Overall, the Ace Pro 2 is a very capable action camera, and I look forward to diving with it more.
