GEAR TESTS
The Digital Shootout is the world's greatest learning event and our staff spent their days and nights setting up demo systems for participants, and troubleshooting any issues that our guests encounter with their gear. But the staff also had a second mission - to use this opportunity at one of the world's greatest dive destinations to put the latest and greatest underwater gear to the test. Every dive, our staff were testing out new cameras, housings, strobes, video lights, and loads of other accessories. We gathered our results here to share with you what we learned about some of the most exciting new gear in the industry.

At the 2012 Digital Shootout, we were blessed with a bountiful supply of new equipment - it truly was like winning the lottery for the staff. With support from on-site representatives from Nauticam and Aquatica, we had a bunch of new housings to test, and Canon brought some of its newest camera bodies. We got our hands on housings for some of the hottest new cameras out this year including the Canon 5D Mark III, Nikon D800, Nikon D4, Olympus OM-D E-M5, Sony NEX-7, Panasonic Lumix GX1, and the GoPro HD Hero2.
